This year went by so fast!
I can’t believe we are celebrating another New Year in just a couple of weeks.
So, to cheer up the spirit, I designed these cute little New Year’s Eve Party Hats.
I’m not sure about your home, but my daughter loves a New Year party! She is now 11 and this will be the first year she will be allowed to stay up late until midnight. I’ve been trying to make this year’s party extra special for her. We are going to have Caramel Popcorn ( her fav) and are going to binge-watch Christmas movies on Netflix. Sappy Right? We’ve been creating our banner and we will be printing our New Year Party Props too.
The only question remained, how do we stay busy till the clock strikes midnight? I can’t let her watch more than one movie and our printable New Year’s Eve Coloring Party Hats are just perfect. Print, color, decorate, and turn them into party hats.

Supplies to make the printable 2024 New Year Party Hats for Kids
- A Black & white or Color Printer
- Cardstock
- Watercolor pencils, Crayons, Brush Pens, Gel pens – anything to color.
- Shiny craft pom poms
- Hot Glue Gun
- Scissors
- Tape or Glue
- Hole Punch
- Elastic band
These Free Printable Party Hats are a perfect easy activity for kids to do while waiting for the New Year. You can print these on regular paper or cardstock for extra durability, then have the kids color and decorate.

Step 2 – Color
We used Water Color Pencils to fill up the design.
Get watercolor effects by running a brush dipped in water over it slowly. These are my favorite watercolor pencils!
Step 3 – Cut
Using a scissor cut along the outer edge of the hat template.
Use a scissor or a blade to make a slit for the hat to loop and secure.
Step 4 – Glue
Carefully pass the hook end into the slit and secure it with cello tape to form a hat.
Step 5 – Wear
You could make your wool pompoms or use craft ones. We had these fun acrylic craft pompoms that we HAD to use! .. Secure the top of the paper hats using a hot glue gun.
Make two small holes at the sides using a hole punch and string a satin ribbon or a thin elastic tape through. What do you think? Like it?
