Diwali / Deepavali is our favorite festival at home. It’s a wonderful time for the family to get together, cook, eat, pray & celebrate. At home, we love to keep our extended family involved in the celebrations even though we might not be physically together. Come October and we start making our Diwali greeting cards ready. Sharing some awesome ideas for you to try making.

Diya – The lighted oil lamp is central to every Diwali celebration.
No wonder that the most popular Diwali card making ideas
will have at least one diya figuring in them.
We made this gorgeous Diwali card last year using paper scraps that we had lying at home..
Its a super easy Diwali card making idea for kids to make.
Another Diya card we loved used OHP sheets & glass colours. How gorgeous does that look!!
Lil p is in love with paper quilling these days. How adorably cute and simple is this Diwali card.
You can make it like the one shown above or make a 3 fold card and ask your child to paint a Diwali diya and anchor it in between.
Love Glitter?? use some glitter foam to keep the cleaning to a minimum.
Handmade paper & a paper doily does a pretty card make.
Diwali also means firecrackers – Patakas
Our foam pataka cards were a BIG hit last year ..
Make the crackers by rolling red colour papers, two and a half centimeter longs into tight coils to form this real looking pataka ladi card ( string cracker)
Have glitter tape, make this Diwali card in a jiffy.
Use some twine to make some real looking Bhoomi chakras on your diwali card.
The Aakash butti or the paper lantern is hung outside homes to invite Godess lakshmi into our homes..
Why not send a card with an aakash kandil on top of it?
We made a foam lantern for our door.. the same idea will work well on a card too.

Loved the ideas Shruti.. Specially because there are lots of ideas for my son too not just ‘pretty’ stuff as he puts ít. The chakri card is his fav.
