Supplies required:

  • Craft paper
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Craft glue
  • Sharpies

How to Make the Alligator Bookmark Papercraft:

1. Download and print the alligator bookmark papercraft template. The template includes parts of the alligator, like the body, tail, belly, limbs and scales.

2. Trace the parts of the alligator bookmark papercraft on craft paper of the appropriate colors. Well, alligators can be brown, gray or green, and we’re going with green in this craft. Choose a lighter green for the alligator’s body and limbs and a darker green for the scales. A light cream is ideal for the tail and belly, and you can get a plain white for the eyes.

3. Attach the thin tail cutout along the outer edge of the tail part of the body base.

4. Stick the belly cutout on the front of the body, aligning the bottom edges.

5. Time to give our alligator bookmark papercraft some forelimbs! Apply glue on the straight edges of the forelimbs. Stick the first one on the outer edge of the body base.

6. Attach the other limb to the belly side of the body base. Make sure that the curved edges of both arms are free from glue.

7. Trim off any extra part of the forelimbs that are jutting out of the body base. Take the eyes and draw pupils on them with a black Sharpie.

8. Attach the eyes to the alligator’s head. The alligator bookmark papercraft is now taking shape!

9. Time to give our alligator some scales! Apply glue on the straight edges of the scales as shown below.

10. Attach three scales to the alligator’s tail. Cut off any excess that is sticking out.

11. Attach the remaining scales along the outside edge of the alligator’s body.

12. Use a black Sharpie to draw a smile and nostrils on the alligator’s face. Cut out two small white paper triangles and attach them to the alligator’s smile.
