Well, as much as I would like to hide behind my brand name, I guess it’s becoming inevitable to reveal my identity.

Hi, I am Shruti Acharya, the “mom” who is “Artsy Craftsy”. I have loved crafting ever since I was a kid myself. And when my daughter was born, I couldn’t wait to relive my childhood by crafting with her.

Over the many years of my craft blogging and the response to it, I have come to realize that I am putting out some very valuable content for parents who want to craft with their children.

My hundreds and hundreds of hours of research and working on kids crafts are being implemented by parents across the world.

But that’s no reason for you to read this blog.

In today’s highly competitive and digitized world, what our children really need is to learn the joy of working with their hands. And the sooner we start, the better!
And it’s my mission to spread this joy one child at a time.

Why Blog?

I started ArtsyCraftsyMom partly to chronicle and share my experiences crafting with my then 3-year-old and also as a way for me to focus more on what it means to me to be an Artsy Craftsy Mom.

I want to parent in a way that encourages creative expression, imagination, joyfulness, and a love of learning, not just in my daughters but in our entire family. I wanted to welcome others to join me as I attempted to be an Artsy Craftsy Mom.

The inspiration and inception to start the blog was my zeal to spend more time with my daughter and engage her in a meaningful way. Even though it is called Artsy Craftsy Mom, the blog is not just about making crafts with and for children. You will find handy parenting tips on everything from throwing a birthday party to book recommendations and recipes along with plenty of pictures and video tutorials on making fun crafts with paper and colours. Holiday craft posts are very popular.

ArtsyCraftsyMom is an award-winning blog …

The blog has received mentions from well-established sites & print media including Times of India,  Women’s Web, Timeout Mumbai, Timeout Delhi among others. My crafts have been regularly featured in leading Children’s magazines – Child Magazine & Mother’s World by Mahindra Retail.
