If you ask today’s kids if they know a famous pig, they are 99.9% sure to mention Peppa Pig! However, it wasn’t the case when I was younger – Peppa didn’t exist then!

When I was a child, the famous pigs we know were Miss Piggy from the Muppets and of course, the three little pigs from the fairy tale. While that story talked about three innocent pigs and an evil wolf, things have changed a little. Apparently, there is now a book written by the wolf, explaining his perspective in the whole saga!

Here are a few more famous pigs you may have heard about.

Famous Fictional Pigs in Popular Culture

  • Wilbur from Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White
  • Babe from The Sheep-Pig by Dick King-Smith
  • Piglet from Winnie the Pooh by A.A. Milne
  • Hamm from Toy Story by Pixar
  • Porky Pig from Looney Tunes
  • Poppy Pig from Miffy by Dick Bruna

Well, famous pigs are all very good, but so are the not-so-famous ones! Today we have a cute little piggie friend for you, which you can make with just plain craft paper, scissors and glue!
