A Jamini Roy by Shama

Sharing is caring!

PS: Did you check the Yum Tum story this week? I saw no comments there..  Would love to hear your food stories..

Jamini Roy (11 April 1887 – 24 April 1972)  was one of the most celebrated artists of modern India.I love the simplicity in his paintings.. Whether its  krishna asking for some butter   or Rama ready for his vanavas  what stands out are the use of basic colors, accented by white.. Those beautiful kohl lined eyes.. and the clean lines.. I could go on and on. But here’s something to kick start our artsy-craftsy with a bang…

Shama tried to recreate the magic of Jamini Roy’s mother daughter painting using pencil colors..

Jamini Roy would be suitable for kids 8 yrs and above.. Which artist are you exploring today??
