Holi is just around the corner! This colorful festival is a joyous occasion full of fun times with family and friends. At my place, Holi is celebrated with lots of fanfare and fun –  enthusiastic kids smear color on everyone and then enjoy taking pictures! We made Colorful Paint Splatter Holi Cards earlier. Another important Holi ritual is the exchange of sweets like Gujjhia and Mathris. If you’re planning to gift some sweets to your loved ones, why not do it in style with some Colorful Holi Gift Tags? Yes, these are really easy to make!!

DIY Colorful Holi Gift Tags

This Holi, add a touch of handmade love to your gifts and sweets by making Colorful Holi Gift Tags for the gifts - Paint splatter, Colorful and joyous to celebrate the Indian festival of colors in style

Supplies needed:

  1. Cardstock
  2. Stamps (I used the Peek-A-Boo-Designs Holi stamps here) and inks
  3. Scissors
  4. Watercolors
  5. Old brush/toothbrush

Instructions:

1. Cut out tags in shapes that you like or use pre-cut plain tags. Here, I have  cut 2 rectangular ones and 4 of other assorted shapes. Go as crazy as you like; shaped tags look cute!! Start off with the hand-print stamp from the stamp set and use inks of different colors to print randomly all over a couple of tags. On the rest, use the color splash stamp from the stamp set. Have a mix of patterns for the different tags. Gather the printed tags on a sheet of paper and arrange them leaving some space in between. Using an old brush and watercolors, spray paint lightly over the tags. This method of painting was real fun during our school days! 4. Finish off by sticking each tags onto a piece of colorful cardstock that is slightly larger than the tag. Stamp out your Holi greetings on a separate piece of paper and stick them on the center of the tags. So this Holi, add a handmade touch to your celebrations!!  These Colorful Holi Gift Tags are fun to make and don’t take up much time at all, and those Ghujiyas and Mathris will taste a lot sweeter when accompanied by these lovely greetings!   These stamps are so versatile, that I made some Holi cards for Peek -A- Boo- designs Blog too This Holi, add a touch of handmade love to your gifts and sweets by making Colorful Holi Gift Tags for the gifts - Paint splatter, Colorful and joyous to celebrate the Indian festival of colors in style Here are some book recommendations for books about Holi
