Super Quick Non Candy Halloween Mini Bookmark Treats
Don’t get stuck handing out just candy to trick-or-treaters. Prevent the sugar overload with these Super Quick Non Candy Halloween Mini Bookmark Treats that are super fun for kids.
On Halloween night, an army of little trick-or-treaters will be roaming streets and ringing doorbells, loot bags in hand. My daughter will be one among them too. But you see, she is allergic to chocolate, nuts & candy. While we have trained her not to eat any of the candies, she always gets upset once she is back home.
I always wish others would consider handing out non-candy treats for kids who have food allergies and cannot eat most candy. They will definitely appreciate the thought.
Non-Candy Halloween Mini Bookmark Treats
Materials:
- Printable Halloween Coloring Sheet
- Markers
- Laminating sheet
- Scissors
- Glue gun
- Paper Clips
Procedure:
Here’s our video tutorial from our YouTube Channel.
Start by printing out our free Halloween template on a white paper – A4 or Letter size [ fit to size]We have ghosts, brooms, cauldrons, Spooky eyes, a severed hand, a wizard’s hat, bats, cats & pumpkins. You could draw your own designs too. Next, start coloring using sharpies. We used really bright Halloween colors – Green, purple, Orange & whites.
Using a laminator, laminate the sheet so that the designs become permanent and waterproof. Cut out each design carefully.
Now glue a jumbo paper clip at the backs using hot glue gun. We messed up a few because we stuck the paper clip upside down. Do take care at this step – All paper clips need to be facing the right way.
Tada and you are done! The bookmarks are ready to be gifted. You could use Halloween stickers too – you can find items like black glitter Halloween stickers, character stickers (Sesame Street, Harry Potter), and generic sports and animal stickers, all for just a couple of bucks. Or you could change the drawing to suit a different occasion or season.
Even if you risk provoking an eye-roll or two from trick-or-treaters, these alternative Halloween treats are creative ways for kids to celebrate the holiday without adding to the sugar rush.
