My sister gets into these “I HAVE to go somewhere” moods very often.. and we all get into this mad frenzy at really odd times deciding places to go see on really short notice. This time it was the 5 of us.. Me, Hubby, Lil p , my sis & mom. We decided to check out the

Mango Mist resort

on the outskirts of Bangalore as a half day outing on a Sunday.

We opted for the Half Mango package that included 4 activities per person , lunch , high tea & the Mist dance. The resort was easy to find and we took the Hosur Road -> bommasandra , jigani link road  ->  past Biocon, Jigani etc to reach Bannergatta anekal road junction & then Nisarga layout.

The elders are charged 850 per head on a weekend & kids below 12 are charged 400rs for the food. This was out first time there and we did not know what to expect. The staff at the reception were kind of clueless when we asked them what activities they had for kids.. They mumbled something about a swimming pool and carrom!! Once we paid them, they left us to figure our way around the resort on our own. They offered us a blue curacao drink that was decent.. and generally pointed us in the direction of adventure sports. The resort has some turkeys, ducks, quails  and rabbits that Lil p enjoyed watching. They also have a small tree house and Lil p and my mom settled there. My in laws have a lot of mango trees in their backyard and Lil p was super excited to ask her ajja to build her one such tree house for her to play.

Next it was time for some adventure sports ..They have trampoline, rope climbing, plank walking, walk the rope, tents, free falling.. Not for the faint hearted or for the elderly. Kids above 14 years are only allowed .. so Lil p started getting bored really fast. Hubby n my sis enjoyed it a lot.. and so did the guys around – watching a gang of college girls in really small shorts do some silly stunts on the rope walks. My advice – Stick to Jeans, and long T-shirts.

We went for the buffet lunch after this .. The food again is average. Below average actually. Can you imagine eating a custard that was steaming hot.. and an icecream that was watery?? We only liked the curd rice..

Post lunch hubby n Lil p went for a dip in the pool .. every hour or so they would switch on the water fountains.. they also provide tubes and balls for the kids. a nylon dress is mandatory for the pool. You can relax at the pool side swings, and lounge with a drink in your hand ..

They also had many other games – Zorbing , rock climbing, archery, paint ball that had very long queues.. We then checked out the indoor games section .. played a game of chess & carrom.. while Lil P enjoyed the swing and slide.

The high tea was good. With hot bhajji and finger chips which Lil p devoured.
At 5 PM the mist dance started.. We really really liked this. The best part is that the mist did not wet our dress. We loved the feel of the water on our faces .. Wish the DJ was better though. They also have a fish spa where we dipped our feet before heading back home. It was a good day .. and i definetely recommend this place for an office outing. But if you have kids younger than 12 yrs.. there is not much to do.

My Score

  • 4 of 5 starsValue for money – 3/5
  • 4 of 5 starsLocation – 4/5
  •  Cleanliness – 3/5
  • 3 of 5 starsService – 2.5 / 5

It is hard to find a good weekend activity place near any city. This seems like a good option if the management buckles up a bit though. Lil P looks so cute 🙂

Ahead of World No Tobacco Day on 31st May, I’m posting a picture of myself holding a #KaagazKiSmile on behalf of oral cancer patients to support the #KaagazKiSmile campaign. Oral cancer patients are unable to smile mostly due to tobacco-related cancer.I am taking part in this challenge to create awareness about patients suffering from tobacco-related cancer. It is estimated that 45% of all cancer cases in males and 20% of all cancer cases in females are due to the use of tobacco.I invite <> and all my friends to post their picture with a #KaagazKiSmile, and be part of this awareness campaign. To donate, visit https://lovehealscancer.org/donate. Donations will be used to support cancer patients through nutritional and psychological counseling. We could feed and counsel as many as 30 cancer patients through INR 10,000. The impact of our donations would be multiplied through an equal contribution of services by @ZenOncoio.Together, we can improve lives of thousands of cancer patients.https://lovehealscancer.org/
