My Happy Tomorrow – Personal Happiness Plan

Sharing is caring!

We create plans to build wealth. And plans to help us lose weight. Plans for our dream home. Future plans. Travel plans. We plan for a successful career.  We plan our wedding, even our children’s wedding! And our retirement!  It seems we have a plan for pretty much everything that’s important in our lives, so why wouldn’t we have a plan for the thing which drives us all: a desire to be happy?

Exide Life Insurance shared this beautiful video with us, that shows a young couple who have made a scrapbook about all the important milestones in their life that made them happy.. and left empty slots in the book to record their future happy milestones..and the caption goes –

Jab lambi Life, well planned ho, to kal khubsoorat hona hi hai!

Translated, it means – have a   Well planned life for a beautiful tomorrow. Isn’t that such a beautiful though? I Love making plans. I plan the weekly menu, I plan my weekly posts and even the dresses for the week. That is the only way I manage to keep my Job, My family , my Blogging and crafting in perfect order. But sometimes in the mad rush, I forget to pause and enjoy the little moments of happiness. So, when I  got a copy of the “My Long and Happy Life Scrapbook” , I was delighted and more than me , my daughter was ecstatic!

We spent our Saturday afternoon filling up all the pages together ; Recording our little memories and making new ones along the way..

One of the most important pages in that scrap book was recording our wish lists for our future .. and it is so important to write down what we really wish for. Lil p’s wish list caught me a little by surprise.. 🙂  We will be filling this page every year and crossing out the ones that came true.

These are just some of the things I want to own.. But if  I had to note down the 3 milestones that I really Really dream about, here’s my

Personal Happiness Plan

Feel like the luckiest person alive!

Got no Diamonds, Got no pearls. Still I think I’m a lucky girl – I’ve got the sun in the mornin’ and the moon at night.” -Irving Berlin, Annie Get your Gun

I tend to look at the empty side of a half full glass and so my conscious effort is to always feel lucky. Feel lucky for the things that have happened.. feel lucky for the things to come in my life. Lucky. Blessed. Happy.

Get a fabulous Job in a company where I’m appreciated!

I was reading the book “Lean In” by Sheryl Sandberg and she says –

What Would You Do If You Weren’t Afraid?

.. Such profound words! I love being creative and I love being technical! but somewhere down the road, I got afraid.. afraid of change, afraid to take risks. I am going to repeat that statement like a mantra and find myself a fabulous job where I feel appreciated & excited! Not just that, I will write my own craft book and take pride in seeing my name in print. Yes! I am going to have it all 🙂 Afraid no more.

Travel The world

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. – Lao-tzu

Here’s my Travel bucket list

  1. Travel on the palace on wheels
  2. Have champagne on top of the Eiffel tower
  3. Visit the Alps
  4. Watch the northern lights
  5. Go backpacking around Europe
  6. Float in the Dead Sea.
  7. Go visit the 7 wonders of the world .. my list can go on & on..

But the most important part is that I will make happiness a priority. Because planning is essential, and with a plan for happiness, I’m 100% sure whatever the outcome, kal khoobsoorat hai!   #MyLongHappyLife

  1. Aw such a wonderful post shruthi,. Im sure you did a lot of self introspection to write this post in such limited words. My list of wishes can go on and on and on and really it takes lot of determination to decide which is that we really really want! ( Palace on the wheels is my wish too but my husband thinks we can cover all the places in our car 🙁
