What is Sudoku?

Sudoku is a logic-based number puzzle, that was initially known as Number Place. However, the game was popularized by a Japanese puzzle company as ‘Sudoku’, and since then, that’s been the official name of the game!

The game features a 9×9 grid divided into nine 3×3 subgrids called boxes or blocks. The aim of the game is to fill the full grid with numbers so that each row, column and block contains all digits from 1 to 9.

How can kids play Sudoku?

While Sudoku is a great way to pass the time for adults, it’s also an excellent logical game for kids. It improves problem-solving and organizational skills, while also improving concentration and attention to detail.

Kids can start out on picture-based Sudoku, which is easier and more appealing. In this version, each row and column should have one of each image – there can’t be more than one in any row or column.
