Whether it’s an invitation to a Valentine Party, or simply wanting to make an everyday dinner a little more special, everyone needs a go-to dessert that can be thrown together quickly, with almost no effort at all, especially during the Valentine Week.

Luckily for all of us, these ridiculously easy Valentine Red Velvet Mini Desserts are so simple to make that it can hardly even be called a recipe.  It was put together by my daughter who is 9 and we served it to the family at dinner.

When Miss P said she wanted to “make” a Valentine dessert for her friends, I quickly ordered some items from big basket and put our dessert together in a jiffy.

Here is what you need:

  • 1 pack of ready made Red velvet cake
  • 1 container ready-made cream cheese frosting
  • Valentine Sugar Sprinkles
  • Marie biscuits
  • Chocolate Sauce
  • Glass mini dessert jars

To Assemble:

Run the Marie Biscuits through a mini grinder to make them into fine powder

Next we powdered the red velvet cake in a separate bowl

Assemble the glass containers that you will serve in. We used mini shot glasses.

The biscuit mixture forms the lower layer

Then the cream cheese frosting. Add slowly so that layers are not disturbed. We did not have a piping bag so we used a plastic bag with a hole at a corner and Miss P could pipe it with that. If you have a piping bag, this step can be easier for the kids to do.

Next came the Red Velvet cake powder. We used a small spoon to fill  in this layer.

Next the biscuit layer and finally the cream cheese frosting. Miss P loved adding a nice sprinkling of sugar hearts on top. This went in the fridge for 1/2 hour and was served to the whole gang

We also cut some blocks of the red velvet cake , poured some chocolate syrup on top and added some more sprinkles for kids who did not want the red velvet in a mini jar option.
