Pretty Paper Bag Spring Fairy Puppet
Let’s welcome spring with a pretty paper bag spring fairy puppet craft! This fairy reminds us of flowers, greenery & everything we love about spring!
Most of us remember reading about fairies in our childhood, especially if you were a fan of Enid Blyton’s books! While each fairy had their own individual personalities, some characteristics were common: they preferred being away from the public eye, loved living among flowers, and could fly!
Well, if you’d like to have a little fairy friend this spring, we’ve got you a pretty paper bag spring fairy puppet craft to make!

Supplies required:
- Colored craft paper
- Paper bag
- Pencil
- Template
- A pair of scissors
- Craft glue
- Markers
How to make the Paper Bag Spring Fairy Puppet:
1. Download the Paper Bag Spring Fairy Puppet template. The template contains lots of parts, but you need them all, trust us! The template includes the fairy’s hair, face, cheeks, wings, skirt, headband, flowers and leaves. In addition to these, the template includes a rectangle that acts as the base for the spring fairy puppet.

2. Trace the parts of the template on craft paper of the appropriate colors and cut them out. Now, this is the fun part! Since this is a spring fairy, we chose shades of green for the fairy’s outfit, and bright colors for the flowers on the headband. You can choose a skin and hair color that you like, as well as a neutral shade for the wings. You can also use shiny paper for the wings if you like.

3. Let’s start by assembling the fairy’s head. Cut a slit in the marked spot in the fairy’s hair cutout. Slide the face into this slit.

4. Once the face is properly positioned, secure it in place with glue.

5. Stick the cheeks on the left and right sides of the face, toward the bottom end. Use a black marker to draw the eyes, nose, and mouth of the fairy. We’ve drawn our fairy’s eyes closed, and her mouth in a cute smile!

6. Put aside the face and bring out the fairy’s wings. Use a light colored Sharpie (we’ve used pink) to draw outlines and details on the wing cutouts. Put aside the wings.

7. Take the fairy’s skirt and stick the little leaf shapes on the skirt as shown below.

8. Gather all the parts you’ve prepared so far along with the paper bag – it’s time to assemble our paper bag spring fairy puppet!

9. Apply glue on the bottom folded flap of the paper bag and attach the fairy’s head on this.

10. Attach the dress rectangle cutout to cover the top half of the paper bag, below the flap that holds the fairy’s head.

11. Attach the skirt pattern right below the top to complete the fairy’s outfit, so that the bottom of the skirt aligns with the edge of the paper bag. Use glue to fix the wing patterns on either side of the paper bag fairy.

12. Our paper bag spring fairy puppet looks incomplete – she needs some blooms! Take the flower patterns and fold along the midline of the petals. Place one flower pattern over the other in a way that the petals overlap alternately. Use glue to secure the petals in place.

13. Attach the flower center in the middle of the flower with glue. Apply glue on the end of the leaf and stick it to teh back of the flower.

14. Repeat steps 12 and 13 to make two more flowers. You can attach multiple leaves to a single flower if you like.

15. Attach all the flowers to the headband base.

16. Finally, attach the paper flower headband to the top of the head, as shown below. Your paper bag spring fairy puppet is complete!

We love how pretty this paper bag spring fairy puppet has turned out! The way the flowers pop against all the green is particularly eye-catching and truly captures the effect of fresh flowers blooming amidst grass. We think this fairy looks a lot like Tinkerbell too – maybe your next puppet show can be a version of Peter Pan!
