Supplies required:
- Craft paper in different colors
- White paper
- Sharpies or markers
- Scissors
- Glue
How to make the Camel Corner Bookmark:
1. Download and print the camel corner bookmark template. The template contains parts of the camel, like the head, body, neck, tail, legs, mouth, hair and embellishments.
2. Trace the parts of the template on colored paper of the appropriate colors and cut them out. You can use any shade of brown for the camel, choosing a different shade for the hair and/or mouth. As for the camel’s decorations, you can go crazy and use any color you like.
3. Now that we have our parts of the template ready, we can start putting the camel corner bookmark together! Stick the legs to the bottom of the camel’s body, keeping the legs at an appropriate distance from each other. Now stick the long neck to the front of the body.
4. Attach the tail to the other end of the camel’s body and that completes your body base. Let’s move on to the head – stick the mouth and the hairpiece on the top and bottom of the head.
5. Stick the head on top of the camel’s neck. Now the camel corner bookmark is beginning to take shape!
6. Camels are often draped with a woolen shawl or woven fabric, and you can do the same for your own camel corner bookmark with a triangle shape colorful paper!
7. Let’s add some flair to the camel’s outfit by sticking mini triangles to the end to resemble tassels. Let these be a different color so the camel corner bookmark looks bright and cheery.
8. Stick a curved stripe to create a border on the camel’s shawl – let it be in a contrasting color.
9. Use white craft paper to make a plain corner bookmark by folding it, first diagonally, then bringing down the top quarters as shown in the image.
10. Carefully stick the camel on the corner bookmark covering the loose edges you got after folding in the previous step.
11. All that’s left to do is to take out your black marker and draw some facial features on the camel’s head and that’s it – your camel corner bookmark is ready!
Aren’t these camel corner bookmark crafts adorable? They’re really easy to make too, and would make great gifts for Bakrid, along with a handmade Eid card. You’ll love seeing this colorful project among your collection of DIY bookmarks!
