It’s the season of pomegranates, and thank goodness for that! This sweet, cherry-red fruit is loaded with antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and other crucial phytonutrients that make it an incredible superfood. They’re also great to boost your immunity during monsoons and winter. One of my favorite ways to have pomegranate is to juice them.  But to ensure that you truly get the most of your juice, it needs to be freshly juiced. Here’s my favorite combination –

I don’t know about you, but I used to hate making fresh juices at home. Chopping, churning in the blender and then straining through a sieve – Miss P hates getting any roughage in her juice. All the while worrying about all the wasted nutrients and fiber.

Not anymore! I received the new KENT Cold Pressed Juicer for review and I must say I am very impressed.

Kent Cold Pressed Juicer Technology from KENT RO WATER PURIFIERS

In conventional juicers, the nutrients and fibers get oxidized due to the heat generated as a result of high-speed spinning. On the other hand, KENT Cold Pressed juicer does not produce as much heat thus keeping the nutrients and fibers intact. Plus it’s so convenient to use! More juice per fruit and I don’t even need to chop the vegetables or fruits finely. The best part is the roughage gets separated very easily and comes out from a different section.

We tried many juices and smoothies our Healthy Cantaloupe Banana Smoothie for Kids tasted so much better through a cold pressed juicer. Just be warned that a banana is not the right fruit to run through a Juicer. It works best with fibrous fruits like mousambi, orange, pineapples and Pomegranate.

Ingredients for the Healthy Juice:

  1. 2 Whole pomegranates
  2. Fresh Ginger – 1 inch long piece. Washed and unpeeled
  3. 1 Fresh Amla ( Indian gooseberry)
  4. Pinch of salt

  1. Set up your Kent Cold Pressed Juicer
  2. Roughly break the pomegranate. I just peeled the outer skin but left the inner white folds. So easy right?
  3. Add it to the juicer.
  4. Next, add the fresh ginger to the Kent juicer – 1 inch can make it quite spicy. So you might want to adjust accordingly. We love  the kick the ginger adds to it.
  5. Lastly, add one deseeded amla. Amla gives it a natural sour & sweet taste.
  6. Add salt or chaat masala to taste.
  7. Serve fresh

Amla contains protein, fiber and other essential nutrients with high ORAC value. All these nutrient are essentially needed by our body. Amla is also a rich source of ascorbic acid and contains a rich amount of calcium, iron, phosphorous, magnesium, potassium and sodium.

Ginger has a very long history of use in various forms of traditional/alternative medicine. It has been used to help digestion, reduce nausea and help fight the flu and common cold, to name a few.
