Supplies required:

  • Empty cereal box
  • Craft paper in different colors
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Glue

How to make the 3D Winter Snowman Craft:

1. Download and print the 3D winter snowman craft template. The template includes parts of the snowman, the tree, as well as the background. 

2.  Trace the parts of the template on craft papers of the appropriate colors and cut them out. You’ll want to use quite a variety of colors to keep this bright and cheery!

3. Let’s start with the Christmas tree. The tree has five layers – glue them together, arranging themin increasing order of size.

4. Attach the tree trunk to the bottom of the tree and glue the star on the top.

5. The tree’s done; now let’s move on to the snowman! Stick the scarf on the snowman’s neck.

6. Attach the border strip on the beanie with glue, and then stick the beanie on the snowman’s head. Stick his stick arms on either side of his body

7. Stick the carrot nose in the middle of the snowman’s face. Right after that, stick thin yellow strips across the tree, in a zigzag fashion.

8. Cut out little light bulbs from colored paper and attach them to the yellow strips on the tree. Finish up the snowman by using markers to draw eyes, buttons and a smile. Your tree and snowman are done, so keep them aside.

9. Another thing we need for our 3D winter snowman craft is a string of colorful lights – first cut out two thin strips of black paper. Then cut out some small oval shapes from craft paper of different colors.

10. Stick the little ovals (light bulbs) on the strips, keeping them equidistant from each other.

11. Peel off the top layer of the cereal box so you have a clean base. If that’s too difficult, you can paint the cereal box to make it entirely white.

12. Cut out a rectangular frame from the middle of the top surface of the cereal box, leaving a border of 2-3 cm on each edge. That’s the base for your 3D winter snowman craft.

13. Stick the two blue trees on the background.

14. Then, glue one layer of light blue paper on top of the trees, so that the top halves of the trees are visible.

15. Stick the snow-covered tree in the middle of this light blue layer.

16. It’s now time to stick the second layer of blue paper so that the top of the tree is visible.

17. Stick a thin strip of cardboard along the bottom edge of the second layer. Stick the third layer of snow on top of this, and you’ll find that the cardboard strip gives it a three-dimensional appearance – hence the name 3D winter snowman craft!

18. Stick another thin strip of cardboard and add the final, fourth layer of white paper.

19. Time to put everything together! Stick the snowman and Christmas tree on top of the last layer, placing them next to each other.

20. The final touch – attach the string lights from steps 9-10 to the top of the cereal box. That’s it – your 3D winter snowman craft is ready!
