Terrific Toilet Paper Roll Snowman Craft for Kids
Don’t have snow where you live? No problem, this Toilet Paper Roll Snowman Craft ensures that you can still build yourself your own snowman!
When we introduce our kids to crafts, we often start with projects that require just one or two materials, like paper and glue. Slowly, we introduce them to other things like craft foam, pompoms, and pipe cleaners, as their skills improve.
That’s why we love multi-media projects that use a combination of multiple materials – it inspires kids to explore different ways of using common materials. It also shows them how different items can come together to create an impressive output!
If you’re looking for a project like that, you’re in luck! We’ve got something that fits the bill today – a toilet paper roll snowman craft that, besides toilet paper rolls, also uses pipe cleaners, pompoms, felt and even dry twigs!
Toilet Paper Roll Snowman Craft for Kids

Supplies required:
- Empty cardboard tube or toilet paper roll
- Dry twigs
- Pipe cleaners
- Pompoms
- Colored felt
- Colored craft papers
- Acrylic paint
- Paintbrush
- Pencil
- Craft glue
- A pair of scissors
How to make the Toilet Paper Roll Snowman:
1. We start our craft by selecting the main element – the toilet paper roll! Apply light pressure on the roll by pressing it against a flat surface. Don’t press too hard – we don’t want to flatten it completely.

2. Use a pencil to draw two curved lines along the cardboard tube’s length to create the snowman’s outline.

3. Cut out along the pencil lines from the previous step. The area of the roll above the notches is the snowman’s head and the area below is the snowman’s bottom.

4. Apply white paint all over the toilet paper roll. You may need to apply multiple coats to completely cover the roll. Let it dry completely and then pick up your pencil to draw eyes, a nose, and a mouth on the head. Draw three buttons on the body of the toilet paper roll snowman.

5. Time to dress up our snowman! Cut out a piece of pipe cleaner long enough to go around the snowman’s head and bend it to form a C-shape. Select two pompoms that are either in the same color as the pipe cleaner or a complementary color.

6. Use glue to attach the pompoms on either side of the pipe cleaner.

7. Bring back the snowman and take out your markers. Use a black marker to draw over the eyes and mouth. Fill in the nose pencil outline with an orange marker and the buttons with a pink one. Alternately, you can use paint instead of the markers.

8. Time to put everything together! Apply glue on either side of the snowman’s head and stick the ear muffs here. Attach the twigs on either side of the snowman’s body to resemble arms.

9. Our toilet paper roll snowman is almost done, but is he feeling a little cold? Let’s warm him up with a scarf! Cut out a strip of felt and wrap it around the snowman’s neck. You can also paint in some pink cheeks if you like.

How cute is this toilet paper roll snowman craft? We think he looks adorable and perfectly set to welcome the holiday season – with open arms! You can use any color you like for the ear muffs and scarf, and you can also stick circle stickers in place of the buttons. Encourage your kids to think of different ways to dress up your snowman, and let their imaginations run wild!
