Most of us shop for groceries weekly, and then we chop and prep all our food, going on to cook each meal and finishing it all up with cleanup. It’s quite a lot of effort.

Now imagine getting your food with very little physical effort, and then having enough to last a whole week. Sounds ridiculous, but it’s certainly possible if you’re a tiger!

Tigers kill their prey with a bite to their neck or head, and one large deer can last a tiger an entire week. Here are some more interesting facts about this amazing cat.

Fun Facts about Tigers

  • Tigers are the largest wildcats in the world, with adult tigers weighing up to 363kg
  • A tiger’s roar can be heard as far as three kilometres away
  • Every tiger’s stripe pattern is unique; no two tigers have the same stripes
  • Over half the world’s tigers are in India; it’s the country’s national animal
  • Tigers are listed as ‘endangered’ by the International Union for Conservation of Nature

With International Tiger Day falling on 29th July and India’s Independence Day coming up on 15th August, this seems like the perfect time for a tiger corner bookmark papercraft!
