What’s more, the bird is also considered to be sacred among Native Americans, showing what a special place it has in the nation. It is considered to be a symbol of freedom, strength and nature.

1. Despite their name, these birds aren’t exactly bald – it’s just that the feathers on their head are in contrast to the rest of the body
2. Bald eagles have a wingspan that can reach up to 7 feet – a length longer than some cars!

American Bald Eagle Corner Bookmark

Supplies required:

• Craft paper in different colors
• Thick white paper
• Sharpies or markers
• Scissors
• Glue

How to make the American Bald Eagle Corner Bookmarks:

1. Download and print the American bald eagle corner bookmark template. The template includes parts of the bald eagle, including the body, head, wings, feet, beak, and cheeks.

2. Trace the parts of the template on craft paper of the appropriate colors and cut them out. Stick to natural colors generally found in the American bald eagle, which is brown plumage with a white head and yellow beak.

3. Let’s start by assembling the wings. Stick the upper wing on the lower wing pieces. Stick the feet to the base of the body of the American bald eagle corner bookmark.

4. Moving on to the head, stick the beak and the cheeks on the eagle’s face, lining them up together. 

5. It’s time to put the parts of our American bald eagle corner bookmark together! Attach the wings to either end of the body with glue. Apply some glue on the upper edge of the body too. 

6. Stick the head on top of the body, using the glue applied in the previous step. 

7. Time to take out the markers! Use a brown marker to outline the borders of the wings and body. Use black and red markers to draw eyes on the head. The main part of the American bald eagle corner bookmark is done!

8. Take a square piece of white paper and use the instructions here to make a plain corner bookmark. 

9. Turn the bald eagle upside down so the back is facing you. Apply glue on the back. Stick the corner bookmark on the glue, placing it so that the ‘pocket’ is on top. Make sure that the bookmark does not jut out of the eagle – if it does, cut off the extra bit. 

10. There you go – your American bald eagle corner bookmark is all done!

11. To use the bookmark, simply slide the corner of the page into the pocket of the American bald eagle corner bookmark, so it looks like the eagle is ready to take off from the page!
