Hello Kitty Craft Bookmark using pasta + free printable
Create your own Super Cute Hello Kitty Bookmarks using pasta and our free printable! It’s perfect for a Hello Kitty themed birthday party favor and as back to school gifts. This post is part of our monthly #kidscraftstars challenge, this month’s theme being crafting with Pasta.
Hello Kitty Craft Bookmark Using Pasta
Materials required:
- Hello Kitty Free Printable
- Bow Tie Pasta
- Glue Gun
- Paints – All purpose / acrylic paints , Multicolors + white
- Brushes
- Jumbo Craft sticks
- Scissors
- Modge Podge – Gloss.
To make:
Start by coloring the pasta in different colors. We used chalk markers, but very soon realized that these wash off. Use Acrylic / all purpose paints instead. Use a brush to cover the pasta evenly. Let dry.
Add polka dots using a brush and white paint. While the pasta dries, print our free Hello Kitty template. It has 9 correctly sized hello kitty drawings that fit perfectly over jumbo craft sticks. Be sure to select the option – fit to size.
Slowly cut out each hello kitty template taking care to not cut off the whiskers. Don’t worry if you do, just paste a black thread over it and you are as good as before.
Using the same colors that you used to color the pasta, color each hello kitty cutout. Cover the dress and the sleeves evenly. Let dry.
Using a brush, add polka dots carefully. Let dry. Repeat the same for the other cutouts too. The printable makes 9 bookmarks, feel free to print more sets if required. Color the nose yellow and slowly apply a coat of Modge Podge over both the cutout & pasta to make it waterproof. Let dry. It takes about an hour to dry completely. Best to leave them to dry overnight. Alternately, you can use a spray varnish instead of modge podge.
The next day, using a glue gun, secure the pasta bowtie over the hello kitty cutout and then stick this onto a jumbo craft stick.
And our Hello Kitty Craft Bookmark is ready!!

HI! I am confused while downloading the free printable. Can you send? I don’t want to share my credit card. It does say free so thinking I don’t have to:)
You don’t need to share your credit card. Just a valid email to email the printable to you. Enter amount as 0 and it won’t ask for any CC / Paypal information. Hope that helps.
It’s really annoying that the printable is not available on this page, as the top of the page says it is. I’ve dealt with a cranky preschooler getting less and less patient while waiting for me to find this non existent document.
Hey! Thanks for dropping by. There is a BLUE RECTANGLE BOX at the bottom of the post that says, get your printable here. I can understand, because of the Ads, it’s difficult to find. I have added a link in the Material list now. Feel free to download.
I am trying to buy your A-Z animal craft book for12.99 can’t seem to get it to go through… I really would like to get this…Thank you
