How to make the Paper Bag Mirabel Craft:
1. Download and print the paper bag Mirabel craft template. The template contains parts of Mirabel’s body and outfit – face, hair, arms, top, sleeves, skirt, glasses, earrings and various embellishments.
2. Trace the parts of the template on craft paper of the appropriate colors and cut them out. We’ve stuck to Mirabel’s original colors as shown in the movie – white for the top, blue for the skirt, and of course, those bright green glasses!
3. Let’s start by putting together Mirabel’s pretty face. Cut out a slit in the hairpiece and insert the face into it so it looks like the hair surrounds the face.
4. Stick the blue earrings on Mirabel’s ears and the glasses on her face, going from one ear to the other.
5. Take out your black marker and draw some eyes, a little nose and a cute smile for our paper bag Mirabel craft.
6. Now for the most interesting part – Mirabel’s outfit! Stick the white top on top of the blue skirt.
7. It’s time to decorate Mirabel’s skirt with embellishments – apparently, each symbol represents a member of her family. Stick on the decorative bits and don’t worry about getting it perfect – it’s supposed to look handmade and imperfect!
8. Stick the completed outfit on the paper bag, just below the folded flap. Then, stick the arms at the ends of the puffed sleeves.
9. Attach the sleeves to Mirabel’s top with glue. Stick the head on the folded flap of the paper bag. Almost done now!
10. With your black marker, draw a few frills and details on Mirabel’s top so it doesn’t look too plain. That’s it – your paper bag Mirabel craft is complete!
Can I take a moment here to tell you how much I love this paper bag Mirabel craft? I think it perfectly captures Mirabel’s quirky and colorful personality, especially when it comes to her outfit. It is also a great way for kids to learn about the dress and culture of the Andean region. It’s amazing how movies, art and crafts can help us learn more about other regions and eventually bring us together, isn’t it?
