  • Colored craft papers
  • Empty toilet paper rolls/cardboard tubes
  • Template
  • Craft glue
  • Pencil
  • A pair of scissors
  • Markers

How to make the Toilet Paper Roll Astronaut Craft:

2. Trace the parts of the template on craft paper of the appropriate colors and cut them out. The space suit base and helmet will be white, which seems right for an astronaut’s outfit! The face can be any skin color, while the other parts of the space suit can be a mix of grey and multiple colors.

3. Let’s start assembling our toilet paper roll astronaut craft with the head. Stick the face inside the helmet so that the straight edges are parallel to each other.

4. Stick the side controls on either side of the helmet, and the neck ring at the base of the helmet. 5. Take out your markers and draw facial features on your astronaut’s face – eyes, nose, mouth and cheeks. Don’t forget a little tuft of hair on the top! Use a grey marker to draw outlines on the helmet and it’s parts.

6. Cut out a plain rectangle of paper that’s wide enough to go around the empty toilet paper roll and long enough to cover it from top to bottom.

7. Stick the shoes on the bottom edge of the white rectangle, in the middle. Stick the small button box above the shoes, towards the vertical center of the rectangle.

8. Glue the curved strips on either side of the button box and the straight strip under it. Use markers to draw buttons and other details on the astronaut’s spacesuit.

9. Apply glue all over the empty toilet paper roll and stick the white rectangle on it. The base of your toilet paper roll astronaut craft is ready!

10. Attach the astronaut head to the top of the spacesuit.

13. Take another empty toilet paper roll and cover it completely with black craft paper.

14. Glue the paper Moon to the black paper-covered toilet paper roll.
