Imagine sitting in your home on a day like any other day, when you’re suddenly swept up in the air, house and all, only to land in a faraway land. You come out of the house to discover that you’ve killed a witch in the process, and all hell has broken loose!
That is how the absolutely smashing story of the Wizard of Oz begins, and we love that it gets stranger and more interesting along the way. It’s also a story rife with symbolism, leading it to be declared by the United States Library of Congress as “America’s greatest and best-loved homegrown fairytale“.
The Wizard of Oz book was written by L. Frank Baum and was first published in May 1900. Since this month is the anniversary of its publication, we think it’s a good time to celebrate the movie with a party. Because parties are more fun when you make everything yourself, here are some awesome Wizard of Oz party ideas to try out!
