The sudden boom of Artificial Intelligence has many of us worried – are the robots finally taking over?
Well, it’s not impossible – that’s all we can say right now! However, they do have their own special week – National Robotics Week!
In 2010, a resolution was passed in the U.S. House of Representatives officially designating a full week in April as National Robotics Week. This year, it’ll be celebrated from 4th to 12th April, during which scientists will showcase the latest developments in robotics, and students will participate in robotics-related events.
If you’ve got young kids and would like to get them involved in RoboWeek, check out some fun books about robots!
Fun Kids’ Books about Robots
- Robots, Robots Everywhere! by Sue Fliess
- Boy and Bot by Ame Dyckman
- R is for Robot by Adam F. Watkins
- Doug Unplugged by Dan Yaccarino
- Rabbit and Robot: The Sleepover by Cece Bell
- Stop! Bot! by James Yang
Along with books, it’s a good idea to get them involved in making robot crafts for kids. As they grow older, they can add real working elements to their projects and build a proper, functional robot!
