15 Beautiful Ballerina Crafts for Kids
If you’ve got a ballet enthusiast at home, they’ll love these pretty ballerina crafts for kids! Make ballerinas out of pipe cleaners, coffee filters & more!
I love watching classical dance – whichever country it’s from. There’s something so soothing about those graceful movements and soft music – it really is one of my favorite calming activities!
It’s also why I admire the dancers – we’ve heard about how much hard work goes on behind the scenes for each performance. Especially when it comes to ballet – training can start as early as 7 years!
Some of the most famous ballet performances are Swan Lake and The Nutcracker, a holiday favorite. Here are some more fun stories to read about ballet.
Kids’ Books about Ballet
- Angelina Ballerina by Katharine Holabird, Helen Craig
- Tallulah’s Tutu by Marilyn Singer, Alexandra Boiger
- Dogs Dont Do Ballet by Anna Kemp
- Gwendolyn, the Graceful Pig by David Ira Rottenberg, Lesley Anderson
- Boys Dance! (American Ballet Theatre) by John Robert Allman, Luciano Lozano
These books have a common theme – ballet – but the stories are quite varied. We have a girl who doesn’t have a tutu, a pig and dog who want to try something unconventional, and even a mouse who’s obsessed with ballet!
As this is the month of World Ballet Day and we’re soon going to see lots of holiday special ballet shows soon, it seems like a good time to have fun with some pretty ballerina crafts for kids!
