  • Needle and thread
  • Marker pen or pencil
  • Scissors
  • Sequins
  • Cotton

How to Make the Felt Llama Craft:

1. Download and print the llama template. Cut out the separate pieces of the body, ears, hair and saddle.

2. Select felt fabrics for the llama. Prepare the template patterns and trace them on the selected felt fabrics. Cut out the traced patterns neatly.

3. Take any one of the body cut outs and draw face details on the head part of the llama. Prepare needle wit black thread and stitch the traced face details.

4. Similarly you can stitch the face details on the other body cut out but make sure to stitch it on the opposite side of the previous one’s side.

5. Take a body cut out and place it on a flat surface with its wrong side facing up. Place the ear cut outs on the top side of the head part, by slightly overlapping all items (top part of the head and the bottom sides of the ear cut outs).

6. Now place the front body part with its right side facing up, on the top of the back part. Also place the hair cut out on the top side of the head, with its zigzag side facing downwards. Prepare needle and thread and start stitching the sides to join the ears, air and the body pieces.

7. Continue to stitch until a small opening is left. Keep the opening for stuffing the felt llama.

8. Stuff the llama with cotton or scrap felt fabrics. After the stuffing is done stitch to close the opening and secure the stuffing. Tie 2 tight knots and cut off extra thread.

9. Take the saddle cut out and trace simple patterns on it for stitching. Use colourful thread to make simple running stitches and zigzag stitches or any stitch you want.

10. Once you are done stitching, draw the needle to the back side of the fabric, tie a knot and cut off extra thread.

11. Place the saddle on the back side of the felt llama plush and stitch around the sides. Or you can simply use fabric glue to stick it on.

You don’t need any special supplies for this – just get a pack of felt in assorted colors and you’re all set for an array of felt crafts!
