The full set of prompts includes 6 different sceneries – Under the Sea, At the Campsite, At the Beach, At the Farm, Outer Space, and City Scapes.
Now that it’s vacation time, it’s the perfect opportunity to recreate the places you’ve visited, whether it’s the beach or the farm!
These are also perfect for kids who’re inspired by a particular story or a TV Show. We recently watched a documentary on ocean life for Ocean Day and my girl couldn’t wait to try out the Under the Sea sheet! Each prompt has basic elements to set the scene and it’s up to you to fill in the details the way you like!

How to Use the Free Printable Scenery Drawing Prompts
All you need to do is to download and print the scenery prompts on A4 / Letter sized paper and they’re ready to use. Ask your child to choose a scene she likes and let her complete the drawing using her imagination. Since Miss P was waiting eagerly to draw ocean life, we went with the Under the Sea Scenery drawing prompt

You can use a pencil or a black marker to add small elements to the scene. We started with the backdrop – some rocks, shrubs, and shells. Then we added jellyfish and other fish. Some starfish and shells were looking good!
Other Ways to Make use of the Free Printable Scenery Drawing Prompts
What I love most about these prompts is how multipurpose they are! Of course, the easiest way to use them is to just print and draw, but there’s a lot more you can do with these.
- Once the drawing is all colored and complete, laminate and frames it for some lovely wall art for the kids’ room
- Color in the background, and fill in the remaining elements by treating it as a collage. Add different textures like cardboard, fabric and more to make it interesting.
- Laminate the sheets and use them as play dough mats
- These are drawing prompts, but you can also use them as story prompts! Let kids make up a story with their imagination. When they’re done drawing, let them test their writing skills too!
Laminating the sheets makes them more durable and ideal for traveling or for toddlers. You also save paper, so it’s good for the environment too! Do try out the Free Printable Scenery Drawing Prompts with your kids and let us know how you liked them!
