Cute and Easy Handprint Ghost Craft for Kids
Say Hello to this cute little guy – a fun handprint ghost craft for kids! Nothing scary about this fellow, and he’s quite easy for young kids to make!
Halloween is just around the corner, and you know what that means – it’s time for witches, pumpkins, monsters and of course, ghosts!
I don’t think there’s any place on planet Earth that doesn’t have a ghost story of its own. Wherever in the world you go, you’re sure to find a ghost story that’s rooted in the culture and legends of the place. That’s actually quite fascinating!
With Halloween coming up, we think it’s a great time to revisit some famous ghost stories. We’ve compiled a list of movies that aren’t too spooky and suitable for school-going kids.
Ghost Movies Suitable for Kids

Supplies required:
- Colored craft paper
- Pencil
- A pair of scissors
- Craft glue
- Black sharpie
How to make the Handprint Ghost Craft:
1. Download and print the Handprint Ghost Craft template. The template includes parts of the ghost, like hat, broom, cheeks and a handprint. If you like, you can use your own handprint. Simply place your hand on a sheet of plain white paper and draw an outline around it with pencil.

2. Trace the parts of the template on craft paper of the appropriate colors and cut them out. Of course, the ghosts’ body, i.e., the handprint, will be white! You can use black or purple for the hat, and a contrasting color like yellow or orange for the stripe. We’ve used shades of brown for the broom and pink for the ghosts’ cheeks – yes, our ghost has cheeks!

3. Our ghost is channeling his inner witch here, hence the broom. Use glue to stick the smaller part to the long strip that’s the handle of the broom.

4. Use your scissors to make little cuts at the bottom end of the broom to make it look more like a broom. Put away the broom for now.

5. The next step in making our handprint ghost craft is getting the hat together. Stick the band on top of the hat’s brim. Put away the hat for now.

6. Time to get on the main part of our handprint ghost craft – the ghost! Take your handprint and place it so that the fingers are facing down. Take a pencil and draw eyes and a mouth on the top of the handprint, as shown below.

7. Take your black sharpie and go over the pencil lines from the previous step so that the ghost’s eyes and mouth are nice and dark. Use glue to stick the cheeks on either side of the ghost’s mouth.

8. Our ghost is missing his accessories! Glue the hat to the top of the handprint and stick the broomstick on one side to complete the craft.

There you go – an absolutely adorable handprint ghost craft done in almost no time!

Since ghosts are always white, you can make changes to this handprint ghost craft by changing the color of his hat and maybe adding some eyelashes to represent a girl ghost. You can also replace the broom with a wand if you like, as shown in the image above. Once you’re done, be sure to catch a friendly ghost movie with your friends!
