Supplies required:
- Colored craft papers
- Colored cardstock papers
- Pencil
- Craft glue
- Googly eyes
- A Pair of scissors
- Sharpies
How to make the Handprint Sloth Craft:
1. Download and print the handprint sloth craft template. The template includes parts of the sloth and his branch. The sloth’s parts include the handprint body, head, face, eyes, and tuft of hair. The branch also includes two leaves in the template.
2. Trace the parts of the template on craft papers of the appropriate colors and cut them out. You can use either the handprint provided in the template or draw an outline of your hand to create your own. You can use shades of grey or brown for the sloth, and you’ll need at least three shades. The branch will obviously be brown, and the leaves green.
3. Let’s start by putting together the face of our handprint sloth craft. Stick the eye patches on either side of the face, lining them up with the edges so that the curved edges face inward.
4. Stick the face in the middle of the head, applying glue in the middle.
5. Attach the tuft of hair on top of the sloth’s head, sticking it on the back of the head.
6. Time to attach the head to the body of our handprint sloth craft! Apply glue on the thumb of the handprint and stick the head on it. Take out a black Sharpie and draw eyes and a nose on the face of the sloth.
7. Just a few more facial details to add! Stick little pink circles for cheeks and draw a smile with a black Sharpie.
8. Put aside the sloth for now, and let’s move on to the branch. Stick the leaf on the branch – you can choose to stick just one or both.
9. Just one more step left to complete your handprint sloth craft! Apply glue to the backs of the fingers and stick the branch.
That’s it – your cute little handprint sloth craft is done! Now go ahead and make a few more!
Now, isn’t that a super easy handprint sloth craft? The thing about doing something small like this is that it can make you feel more energized and in a better mood to complete your other tasks for the day. Something good always comes out of crafting!
