Celebrate your current and future journey with a Paper Quilled Hot Air Balloon Craft inspired from the popular “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” book by Dr Seuss.

Do you have plans for things that you’ll do ‘some day’? Maybe it’s to create a work of art or visit a place. They’re wonderful plans of course, but only if they are executed as well!

The Some Day trap is the one all adults fall in, described so very well as “The Waiting Place” in Dr Seuss‘ “Oh, the Places you’ll Go!”. That’s what makes kids different – if they want something, they run after it NOW – not tomorrow or the day after!

Let’s prevent our children from falling into the same trap, by encouraging them to follow their dreams without waiting. And what better way to do that than with an iconic book and a craft based on it? So let’s go ahead and get ready to take off on a Paper Quilled Hot Air Balloon Craft, inspired by Dr Seuss!

2. Trace the hot air balloon pattern from the template on a craft paper of any color and cut it out. Use a different colored craft paper to trace the basket and the 2 strips from the template. Select a blue shaded art paper and trace the square from the template on it and cut it out as well.

6. Take the square paper prepared in step 2 and stick the basket and strip cut out on it, leaving enough space on the top. Attach the quilled air balloon here, making sure there is no gap between the balloon and the strips.

That’s it!! Your Paper Quilled Hot Air Balloon is ready and waiting to take you towards your dreams. Be sure to read the book before starting the craft so that kids can truly appreciate the magic of the craft, and the symbolism of the colors – it means that the world is waiting for them, to paint it with all the colors of the rainbow!
