With everyone being confined home these days, kids are missing meeting their friends. No more play dates, birthday parties or just hanging around outside their homes together. Yes, we do have video calls, but it’s not the same thing!
Kids may miss talking about their day and a buddy to share their daily accomplishments with. So if they’ve built a cool model during the quarantine, they can’t really bring a friend over to show it. If they’ve learned a new football move, they can’t show it to their team. Sending over a picture doesn’t count!
Now since more kids are reading during this period, they need a little buddy to encourage them and get them more excited about reading, and while we can’t substitute a child’s real friends, we’ve got a simple option – a little monkey bookmark! This printable monkey bookmark comes with a free template, so it’s super easy to make!
Printable Monkey Bookmark + Free Template
Supplies needed:
- Card Stock or thick craft paper in brown, cream and pink
- Scissors
- Glue
- Marker
- Pencil
How to make the Printable Monkey Bookmark + Free Template:
1. Download and print the free printable monkey bookmark template. The template includes pieces for the monkey’s body, head, face, arms and tail.
2. Trace the monkey parts on craft paper and cut them out. You can use colors as shown in the image below.
3. Stick the monkey’s face on the head portion.
4. To the body, add the tummy circle, the tail and the feet to the appropriate positions.
5. Assemble the ears by sticking the inner ear on the outer ear. Do the same with the arms.
6. Use glue and stick on the ears and the arms in the right place.
7. Stick on the monkey’s cheeks and draw on some cute features. Your monkey bookmark is ready!
