The New Bunk Bed

Sharing is caring!

Children+Room+Decor

We bought a (second hand) Bunk bed for Lil  P last month.. This is how her room looks right now. I very strongly believe that she should have her own space. She wanted a pink or yellow one but we found this blue one in almost new condition so she decorated it with pink wallies flowers and birds. Since the room is small we had the overhead fan disconnected and have a standing fan as a temporary solution till the AC is fit in. I finally bought a decent book shelf for her [ Thanks Finla ] .. and lotsss of books.. [ Thanks Sandhya for that crossword trip] .. The Vividha Butterflies hold her smaller artworks [ See the curtains ] .. The wall opposite to the bed is covered with her artwork, stuck on the walls with vinyl re-positionable stickers ..

By the end of this year, we plan to cover it completely. I know its not a glossy magazine kind of picture.. We are limited by the size of the room .. But I am in love with a room that is so Lil P!.

She has her afternoon naps on the lower bunk.. The upper bunk houses her kitchen set and barbie dolls.
By her 6th birthday, she will be sleeping in this room at nights too. Right now we have an extra single bed in our master bedroom.

What do you think?? ?

  1. Lovely room Shruthi! Love your idea of displaying her art work. Funny how I posted about N and her room just today as well. I have just moved her into her room recently too 🙂 I should take pics of it and post them soon.

  2. Did she enjoy the books? Do give a close-up pic of the book shelf, too. You can feature her book shelf at the Papertigers blog.

  3. Wow! that looks amazing…you are inspiring me to get a similar one done for R..one question ?Where did you get the second hand bunk bed from? I really want to get a bunk bed for R..may be not now..but a little later, but it surely is in plan..

  4. @swati – bought it for 15,000 including 2 brand new kurl on mattresses. had to pay 1000 rs extra for dismantling and transport. Kept checking OLX.in regularly for any bunk bed.

  5. Hi, Just wanted to check where you got the globe? I have been looking for a decent sized one for a long time and have n’t been successful. Thanks

  6. lovely. can you tell me more about book shelf and those vinyl re positionable stickers pls?

    thanks in advance

  7. @Anon – Bought it from Sapna Store I think. .
@lavs – I bought the book shelf (2nd hand) from a FB group Second to none.. And the Vinyl repositionable stickers are from wallies.com now available at most indian stores. These don’t leave a residue on the wall and have pretty strong tack.

  9. The bunk bed looks great, more so with the beautiful decorations all around:-) the bookshelf had a higher purpose than just sitting in my house & now it has fulfilled it’s destiny:-) looks fantastic…

  10. The bunk bed is gorgeous.. and your little P will totally love it.. Its not so much the joy of sleeping on a bunk bed.. but the joy of playing with it.. and the variations you can make to the bed.. 🙂 Make it a house, a school, a library.. all in play time.. 🙂

Hope you are well… and have a lovely week ahead..
