Fun and Easy Toilet Paper Roll Reindeer Craft
Here’s an easy Toilet Paper Roll Reindeer Craft for kids to make this season. Go ahead & make a full set, so Santa can proceed on his journey!
Come December and you’re sure to see lots of Christmas decorations and symbols everywhere, and one interesting one among them is the reindeer. Now, you’ll see reindeer representations across the globe, although the animal is only found in very few places on the planet!
Yes, reindeer is a kind of deer, but unlike deer, the reindeer lives mostly in really cold places, like Canada, Alaska, Russia and Arctic regions. This means that the majority of people today haven’t seen a live reindeer, yet they’re so beloved!
To celebrate this universal appeal of the reindeer, today we have a cute toilet paper roll reindeer craft for kids. It’s really easy and doesn’t need a lot of supplies!
Fun and Easy Toilet Paper Roll Reindeer Craft

Supplies required:
- Empty toilet paper roll/cardboard tube
- Construction paper or thick craft paper in different colors
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Glue
- Sharpies or markers in different colors
How to make the Toilet Paper Roll Reindeer Craft:
1. Download and print the toilet paper roll reindeer template. The template contains parts of the reindeer, including the body, face, ears, antlers and spots. The largest piece of this template is the body outline, which we will use as a stencil. Cut this out first.
2. Trace the remaining parts of the template on craft paper of the appropriate colors and cut them out. Since our cardboard tube is brown, keep the face and body white, so they stand out. We’ve chosen a dark brown for the antlers and light brown for the outer ears. The inner ears are pink, while the spots can be beige or a light yellow.

3. Let’s start with the base of our toilet paper roll reindeer craft – the toilet paper roll! Press down slightly on one open end – this will be the head of our reindeer.

4. Now take the large body cutout from the reindeer template and use it as a stencil to draw an outline on the cardboard tube. Remember to keep the curved part of the stencil towards the flattened end of the cardboard tube. Use a pencil to draw the outline and when you’re done, cut along the pencil lines. You should end up with a shape like the one in the image below.

5. On the reindeer’s face cutout, draw eyes and a mouth using a black marker or pen. Take a pink Sharpie and shade in some cheeks.

6. Bring back the cardboard tube. Stick the white body cutout on the lower portion of the toilet paper roll, aligning the bottom straight edges.

7. Stick the face of the reindeer above the body cutout, so it sits on the reindeer’s head right above the cutouts on the cardboard tube. Your toilet paper roll reindeer is beginning to take shape.

8. Stick the inner ears inside the outer ears and allow the glue to dry.

9. Attach the ears on the reindeer’s head, applying glue on the inside of the cardboard tube.

10. Next, stick the antlers on the head, in between the ears.

11. Use glue to stick the spots on the deer’s forehead and body.

12. Hmm, our reindeer looks like he’s missing something. Oh yes, a nose! Take your black Sharpie and color in a cute little button nose in between the eyes.

There you go, your toilet paper roll reindeer craft is complete!

Now, you may have a question – is the reindeer in this toilet paper roll reindeer craft a boy or a girl? Well, it could be either, because both male and female reindeer grow antlers! You could also try making an entire family of reindeer – a group of reindeer is called a herd. You could also give them fun names like Dancer, Prancer and the like!
