Gorgeous DIY Tulip Card Craft for Kids
Here’s a gorgeous DIY Tulip Card Craft for kids to make for any occasion – Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Teacher’s Day or Grandparent’s Day!
If there was one thing that was universally acceptable and that would win over anyone’s heart, it has to be a flower!
There’s something about flowers – they’re beautiful, soft, gentle, delicate and require care – much like relationships. That’s probably why flowers are used to convey feelings across occasions – sad or happy.
So we’ve decided to make an open ended DIY tulip card for you today – it’s not meant for any specific occasion, which means you can use it for pretty much anything you like!

Supplies required:
- Colored craft papers
- Cardstock paper
- Craft glue
- Pencil
- Sharpies
- A pair of scissors
How to make the DIY Tulip Card Craft for Kids:
1. Download and print the DIY Tulip Card template. The template provides you with patterns for the tulip flower, leaves and stem. For one DIY tulip card, you need a total of 5 petals, 8 leaves and 1 stem.
2. Trace the petal patterns on colored craft paper and cut them out. You need 5 petals for one flower, so you can do 5 in one color and the remaining 5 in another color. We’ve chosen pink, but you can choose any color you like. In nature, tulips appear in pink, red, purple, yellow and even white. However, if you’re using a white card, we won’t recommend white for the tulips too. If you really want white tulips, choose a card that’s in a contrasting color.
3. Once you have a set of 5 tulip petals ready, fold them all in half vertically, as shown. These will make the flower part of your DIY tulip card.
4. Apply glue on the outer side of a folded tulip. To this stick the folded edge of another tulip so you end up with a combined tulip having three petals.
5. Similarly, attach the remaining tulip petals to the first one so that you have a 3-dimensional tulip that looks like the one below.
6. Time to move on to the leaves! Trace the leaf patterns on green craft paper and cut them out. You need four cutouts for one leaf, and eight in total for one DIY tulip card.
7. Fold each leaf in half vertically.
8. We now follow the same technique we used for attaching the tulip petals. Apply glue on the outer edge of a folded leaf and attach another one to it.
9. Similarly, attach two more leaf cutouts so you get a 3-dimensional leaf. Repeat the whole process again to make another 3-d leaf.
10. It’s time to put everything together! Fold your cardstock in half to create a card. As mentioned earlier, white will do, unless you’re making white tulips – in that case, choose colored cardstock. Stick the green stem in the middle of the card, aligning the narrow edge with the bottom edge of the card.
11. Apply glue on the card just above the stem and stick your 3-d tulip on top of it. Your DIY tulip card is looking good!
12. Stick the 3-d leaves on either side of the stem, below the tulip.
There you go – your gorgeous DIY tulip card craft is complete! Now go ahead and make it in other colors!
