This Adorable Paper Bag Dracula Puppet Craft is a great addition to your collection of Halloween bookmarks to perk up your reading this season!

How do you change a person? Well, you could talk to them, ask them to read a book or watch a movie. However, if you’re Dracula, all you need to do is bite them – and they’ve changed!

Okay, that is a rather creepy way to change someone, but well, that’s what Halloween is all about isn’t it? But just because he bites people doesn’t mean that Count Dracula is ill-mannered. In fact, he’s an educated nobleman, with a castle and everything!

• Although the story is based in Transylvania, the author had never visited the place
• Most movies come after the book, but Dracula’s stage adaptation was released before the book!
• Dracula is believed to be the most-filmed fictional character ever
• The original manuscript of the book today belongs to someone unexpected – Paul Allen, Microsoft’s co-founder!

Okay, Count Dracula was a little scary, so how about a version of Dracula that is just the opposite? Here is our paper bag Dracula puppet, which is so adorable you’ll forget he’s based on someone who bites people!

Adorable Paper Bag Dracula Puppet Craft

Supplies required:

• Brown paper bag
• Craft papers in different colors
• Sharpies or markers in different colors
• Pencil
• Scissors
• Glue

How to make the Paper Bag Dracula Puppet:

1. Download and print the paper bag Dracula puppet template. The template contains parts of the puppet, including face, hair, eyes, teeth, cheeks, hands, shirt, bow, cape, and shoes. 

2. Trace the parts of the template on craft paper of the appropriate colors and cut them out. We’ve gone with purple for the skin parts like face and hands, black for the hair and a bright red for the cape and bow. 

3. Let’s start by sticking a distinctively identifying feature of our paper bag Dracula puppet – his hair! Stick the hair piece on top of the face. 

4. While we’re here, let’s go ahead and finish the face – stick on the eyes and cheeks. Yes, our paper bag Dracula puppet has pink cheeks! Use a black marker to draw a nose and smile, and then stick on the pointy teeth at the bottom of the smile. 

5. Put aside the head and let’s move on to the body. Get out your paper bag. Cut out a black rectangle the size of the paper bag’s front. Stick the Dracula’s shirt piece on this black rectangle. 

6. Bring back the head – and stick it on the folded flap of the paper bag. 

7. Stick the black outfit piece on the paper bag, under the head. 

8. It looks like our paper bag Dracula puppet is done, but there’s still more! Our Dracula needs accessories, so stick on the red bow and shoes  – in the right places!

9. Attach the arms to either side of the body, sticking on the back of the paper bag. Now attach the cape to the back of the paper bag, applying glue only at the top so that the bottom of the cape flows free. If you like, you can outline the cape with a black marker to make it more pronounced. 

That’s it – your paper bag Dracula puppet is complete! Now all that’s left to do is to create a script for your puppet show, and make sure you include Count Dracula’s friends – the friendly neighborhood ghost puppet and the cute witch paper bag puppet!
