Supplies required:
- Colored craft paper in green
- Green tissue paper
- Gold glitter foam or paper
- Pencil
- Craft glue
- A pair of scissors
- String
How to make the Crumpled Paper Christmas Tree Ornament:
1. Cut out a triangle from your green craft paper, making sure the sides are a little longer than the base. Cut out small squares of green tissue paper – this is what we’ll crumple to make our crumpled paper Christmas tree ornament. Cut out a star shape from your glitter foam or glitter paper.

2. Now comes the fun part – take the green tissue paper squares and crumple them into small balls.

3. Once you’ve crumpled all your tissue paper, take your paper green triangle. Place it so that the base is down and the longer sides are on the left and right. Apply glue along the base, in a line.

4. Stick the crumpled paper green balls along the line of glue, packing them in tight so no gaps are visible between the balls.

5. Now apply another line of glue above the previous one and stick more crumpled paper balls along this new line. Keep going till you reach the tip of the tree.

6. Fill in the remaining space on the green triangle with glue and stuff in as many green balls as you can. Make sure the balls stay inside the paper, so that your triangle shape appears neat.

7. See if there are any small gaps left in your crumpled paper Christmas tree ornament. If so, crumple small pieces of green tissue paper and fill them up. Let the glue dry completely.

8. Attach your glitter star to the tip of the crumpled paper Christmas tree ornament.

9. Almost done! Glue a small piece of string in a loop shape on the back of the tree’s top tip. Let the glue dry.

That’s it – your crumpled paper Christmas tree ornament is ready to be hung!

This is seriously one of the easiest Christmas crafts we’ve ever made, and it’s a great choice for little ones who’re just setting foot in the world of crafting. A parent or older sibling can do the cutting, while little kids can apply glue and stick the crumpled paper balls. Once it’s done, hang it up on the Christmas tree and watch them beam with delight every time they spot their creation occupying pride of place on that tree!
