Fun Frog Bookmark Papercraft for Kids
A frog may seem like an unlikely reading partner, but this frog bookmark papercraft is perfect for the purpose! Easy to make for kids of all ages!
They say that when you are sitting down for a meal, you should first appreciate the dish with your eyes, inhale the aromas and then taste it. Well, the frogs take it a step further – they actually use their eyes to push their food down their throats!
Yes, those large bulging eyes on a frog do more than give it 180 degrees vision – they also help it eat. When a frog eats, it pulls its eyes down into the roof of its mouth to help push food down.
Here’s another thing a frog’s eyes can do – they can see where you stopped reading and hold your page for you. Okay, maybe not all frogs can do that, but our cute little frog bookmark papercraft certainly can! Here’s a fun and easy project for kids of all ages, and all you need is craft paper!

Supplies required:
- Colored cardstock papers
- Pencil
- Craft glue
- A pair of scissors
- Sharpies
- Googly eyes
How to make the Frog Bookmark Papercraft:
1. Download and print the frog bookmark papercraft template. The template includes parts of the frog, like the head, belly, front leg, back legs, and spots for the face.
2. Trace the parts of the template on craft paper of the appropriate colors and cut them out. Choose two shades of green for the frog, one for the belly and a darker one for the rest of the body. Go with yellow for the spots so they stand out from the rest of the face.
3. Stick the front leg part on the lower body circle, so that the upper curves of both pieces align. Make sure to apply glue only on the top and leave the bottom part, i.e. the feet, free. If you stick all the way, you can’t use your bookmark!
4. Time to stick the hind legs, which gives a frog its incredible ability to leap so high! Attach them to either side of the circle, sticking on the back so it looks like the legs are popping out from behind the body, as shown in the image below.
5. Now that the lower body of our frog bookmark papercraft is done, let’s move upward! Attach the head on the top of the body.
6. Stick the cheeks on either side of the frog’s face. We’re not sure if real frogs have cheeks, but our frog bookmark papercraft has them!
7. Here’s something a real frog does have – large bulging eyes! Stick two googly yes on the small circles on the top of the head. Looking good!
8. Stick the little yellow spots on the frog’s forehead.
9. Only one thing left to do now – take a black Sharpie and draw a little smile on the frog’s face. You’re all done!
10. To use the frog bookmark papercraft, insert the edge of the page between the belly and the front legs. Now you can leave your book – your frog will hold on to the page tight!
‘Cute’ isn’t a word people generally associate with frogs, but isn’t this little guy absolutely adorable? An optional step here is to take a Sharpie the same color as the frog and to outline the frog’s body parts. You can also add some green spots on the frog’s body and limbs.
