Bright and Colorful Monster Papercraft for Kids
If you’re looking for an easy monster craft this Halloween, our colorful monster papercraft will be perfect! Create as many monsters as you like!
As parents, we love our kids to the moon and back, but sometimes, we do lose our patience. There are many occasions when we’re so busy that when our kids come running to us to say something, we shoo them away.
At that moment, we’re probably dealing with some adult-level difficulty, and we know that our child has come to talk about something trivial. However, that’s the thing- it’s not trivial to the child!
For example, when your little one thinks that there are monsters under the bed, take them seriously. And instead of pooh-poohing their fears, help them get over it. With books about non-scary monsters, for instance!
Non-Scary Monster Books for Kids
- The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson
- There’s a Monster in Your Book: A Halloween Book for Kids and Toddlers by Tom Fletcher, Greg Abbott
- If Your Monster Won’t Go To Bed by Denise Vega, Zachariah OHora
- The Monster Next Door by David Soman
- The Monster at the End of This Book by Jon Stone, Michael Smollin
Here’s another way to help kids get over the fear of monsters – by making a monster papercraft! And the brighter it is, the better!

Supplies required:
- Colored craft papers
- Pencil
- Sharpies
- Googly eyes
- Craft glue
- A pair of scissors
How to make the Monster Papercraft:
1. Download and print the monster papercraft template. The template contains parts of the monster, including the body, arms, mouth, teeth, antennae, and spots.
2. Trace the parts of the monster on craft paper in colors of your choice. Now here’s the fun part – you can go with any color you like! You can keep the entire monster in one color, or you can choose contrasting colors for the antennae and spots. It’s a monster, so the whackier, the better!
3. Okay, let’s start assembling our monster papercraft by sticking the spots on the monster’s body. The body has a middle part, that extends into the long rectangle, as well as a curved top part (the head) and a squiggly bottom (the feet).
4. As you can see, we’ve used the same color for the monster’s body and spots, but feel free to change it up. Nex, attach the antennae to the monster’s head with glue.
5. Stick the teeth inside the mouth pattern.
6. Stick a large googly eye in the center of the monster’s head. Of course, you can go with three eyes too!
7. Your monster papercraft is beginning to look good! Glue on the mouth under the monster’s eye. Stick the cheeks on either side of the mouth.
8. Take the long rectangle on one side of the monster’s body and roll it around to meet the short rectangle on the other side. Let it overlap on the other and stick the two ends together with glue. The monster’s body is ready!
9. Time to give our monster some arms! Take the arm cutouts and make a small fold at the flat ends. Apply glue on these folded flaps.
10. Attach the glued ends on either side of the monster’s body.
Now go ahead and make more of the monster papercraft – in a different color, this time!
So there you go – there really can’t be an easier monster papercraft than this! All you need is colored paper and a googly eye, and you can have yourself a colorful, friendly monster in minutes!
