Thanksgiving Corner Bookmarks Fall Craft
Supplies required:
- Craft paper in different colors
- Sharpies or colored markers
- Scissors
- Glue
How to make the Thanksgiving Corner Bookmarks:
1. Download and print the Thanksgiving corner bookmarks template. The template includes parts of the acorn (stalk and nut), sunflower (petals and center), leaf, pumpkin (stem and body) and turkey (body, tail, feathers and beak).
2. Trace the parts of the template on craft papers of the appropriate colors and cut them out. If you like, you can make all the Thanksgiving corner bookmarks at once, or you can choose a few for now, and the rest for later. We’ve gone with a traditional Fall color template of browns, reds and oranges, with some green thrown in!
3. Let’s start assembling our Thanksgiving corner bookmarks one by one – beginning with the turkey since it is Thanksgiving after all! Stick the smaller tailpiece inside the bigger one. Stick the beak in the center of the turkey’s head.
4. Now gather the feathers and stick them inside the tail, arranging them so that the pointy ends are directed towards the middle and the curved portions are aligned with the curves of the tail.
5. Now stick your turkey in the middle of the tail. As a final touch, use a brown marker to outline the turkey and draw some eyes with a black marker.
6. All that’s left to do is to turn your cute little turkey into a bookmark. For this, take a square piece of white paper and fold it in half diagonally. Then fold back the front corner as shown below.
7. At the point where the folded corner meets the straight edge, fold down either ends to meet at the bottom as shown.
8. Tuck in the bottom ends of the two corners into the fold as shown below.
9. Stick your turkey on top of the corner bookmark and the first of your Thanksgiving corner bookmarks is done!
10. Moving on to the remaining bookmarks, they are easy enough to assemble. For the acorn, stick the stalk on top of the nut and use brown markers to add some details. As for the corn, stick the leaves on top of one end of the cob, and then finish up with green and yellow markers. The pumpkin assembly is similar to that of the acorn.
11. For the sunflower, stick one set of petals inside the other, so that the petals seem to be alternating. Apply some glue in the middle and stick the sunflower center. Outline with markers and you’re done! The maple leaf is the easiest among this set of Thanksgiving corner bookmarks – just use a marker to add some veins and that’s it!
Once your Thanksgiving corner bookmarks are ready, you can use them by sliding the corner of the page into the little pocket you created in Step 8 above. Since there’s quite an assortment of Thanksgiving and Fall symbols here, they’re perfect to distribute among your gang of friends. The fact that they’re easy to make means that you can make as many as you like!
