You’ve heard of marsupials, and you’ve heard of kangaroos and koalas. But have you heard of quokkas?

Most probably not, and I’m one of you! Now that I know about them, I’m wondering how I was ignorant of what are probably among the cutest creatures on earth! 

Quokkas are marsupials found in Australia, and they have a ‘smiley’ face which gives them the moniker – the happiest animal of earth. Now I can’t think of a better title to have in the animal world, especially during these times!

So when you’re learning about Australian animals like kangaroos, koalas and quails, think about including the quokkas too. And if you need help learning about them, we’ve got your back – with a cute little quokka hug bookmark craft!

Printable Quokka Hug Bookmark Craft

Supplies Required:

• Colored craft paper or card stock
• Pencil
• Markers
• Scissors
• Glue stick

How to Make the Printable Quokka Hug Bookmark Craft:

1. Download the printable quokka hug bookmark template and print it out. The template includes the quokka’s head, body, tail, feet, arms, hands, ears, cheeks and eyes.

2. Trace the parts of the template onto craft papers of the appropriate color. Choose brown for the quokka’s body parts, with dark brown for the tail, hands and feet. Go with light pink for the cheeks. Cut out all the parts and lay them out.

3. Assemble the head of the quokka by sticking on the eyes, ears and cheeks. 

4. Stick the hands to the ends of the arms. 

5. Then stick the arms on the body with glue, making sure the arms face inward.

6. Complete the quokka’s face by drawing a nose and mouth with a marker.

7. Stick the feet to the bottom of the quokka’s body. 

8. Now stick the completed head on the body of the quokka.

9. Now for the final touch – the tail! Stick the tail on the back of the quokka’s body.

10. Your cute little quokka hug bookmark craft is ready! Now all you need to do is to fix the quokka hug bookmark on a page of your favorite book and watch him hold it for you for as long as you want!
