20 Adorable DIY Animal Valentines for Kids
Nothing is cuter than some adorable DIY animal Valentines for Kids to make this Valentine’s Day, and we have some easy ideas to try!
When Valentine’s season comes around, it’s not just hearts and pink that make an appearance; you’ll also notice an abundance of cute animals everywhere, acting as little messengers of love. Not convinced? Look around and you’ll see we’re right!
We’re not exactly sure why this is so, but we thought it would be fun to see how animals would celebrate Valentine’s Day (if they were aware of the concept).
Interesting Courtship Rituals in Animals:
- Prairie Voles – They can detect when their mates are stressed, and when they notice, they offer them hugs and kisses
- Nursery Web Spiders – If a male is interested in a female, he brings her a tiny bundle of food wrapped in beautiful white spider silk. The female inspects the gift and if she’s satisfied, she accepts.
- Adelie Penguins – The males collect little rocks and present them to the object of their affection. If the female accepts, she takes the rocks and uses them to line her nest.
- Satin Bowerbirds – The male bird builds a bower that looks like a tower of sticks and decorates it with only blue objects, including ribbon or plastic. Once the female approves, he still has to do a dance before she accepts.
- Porcupines – Once a male porcupine is interested in a female, he sprays her with urine, but he has to catch her at the right time since female porcupines are only receptive 48 hours in a year.
Okay, those were some strange rituals! Thankfully, we humans don’t have to do all that – some cute DIY animal Valentines for kids will work!
